Circular value creation moves away from the linear model and aims to preserve the value of materials, components and products in a way that makes economic and environmental sense. Reuse, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing and recycling can help keep recoverable materials and components in the economy and create value again.
The approach is systemic: value-creation partners, resources, business models, technologies and people are considered together. The call required an approach that went beyond technology development alone. Projects focusing exclusively on recycling were not eligible.
